My name is Ken Lim, and I’m a professional wedding, portrait and event photographer, based in Hong Kong. My studio is in Wanchai, just around the corner from The Pawn and a few minutes’ walk from Wanchai MTR station. Since 2009, I have taught English photography classes in Hong Kong to over 200 students.

I grew up in Queens, New York, and studied in Canada and Japan before graduating from Brown University in 2003. In 2006, I moved to Hong Kong as an expat to live with my girlfriend and to continue the finance career I’d started in New York.

After five years of investment banking with two firms, I was burnt out and unhappy, so in 2008 I quit my job to travel the world, catch up with old friends and clear my mind. I borrowed a backpack, and bought a round-the-world ticket and a brand-spanking-new DSLR camera to record my experiences.

It was during my travels by myself that my camera became my best friend and I fell in love with photography.
